Mike, if Glu. is involved in detox, then could its depletion also be part of the reason why suddenly after decades some of us become sensitive to certain foods that we tolerated before? Were we able to just cope with our reaction to the foods until we lost too much Glu?

Their are SO many people on CFS boards that can't tolerate any kind of medicine or supplements, this is a really interesting idea.

Yeah, I think that'd be one of the reasons why folks would be intollerant of foods. It appears that glutathione plays a role in a lot of systems that would effect food tolerance. Digestive acid production, motility, immune system, leaky gut and I'm guessing more would be negatively effected with low glutathione levels.
