Hi Pauline,

Did your rapid heartbeat start after you started taking Entocort, or before? If it started afterwards, then as Becky pointed out, that's a side effect of Entocort, and you should stop taking it. Incidentally, there are 3 mg of budesonide in each Entocort tablet, so 3 tablets, (the normal dose), is a total of 9 mg).

My gut used to writhe like a thrashing snake, sometimes when I was having a reaction, but I never noticed it "beating", or pulsing, but maybe I just failed to notice it, if it did.

Most GI docs know very little about food allergies or intolerances, and as a result, most of them will tell you that MC has nothing to do with food allergies or intolerances. (The reactions that we have with MC, are usually due to food intolerances, rather than true allergies). If you want to discuss that with a doctor, the proper specialist to see would be an allergist/immunologist.
