Sounds good to me, I can easily eat 3 a day, I love yogurt anyway.tex wrote:Good for you. You seem to be getting far better results with a probiotic than anyone else to date, as far as I'm aware. Maybe that med that you tried, (without success), before the onset of your flare, somehow messed up your gut bacteria.
10 billion sounds like a lot of bacteria, but it really isn't, (as far as bacteria populations are concerned). VSL#3, for example, contains 450 billion live bacteria per packet. (Of course, it has a reputation as a high-potency probiotic, and it has been shown by research, to be very effective at reducing inflammation.) High numbers help to make up for the ones that arrive DOA, and/or get killed or crippled by stomach acid, before they ever get to where they need to go. I suspect that a lot of people underdose on probiotics, because the manufacturers tend to brag on what huge populations of bacteria their products contain, when in reality, the numbers aren't really particularly high.
IOW, I think that more than one dose per day, with products that have relatively low bacterial counts, is probably a good idea.

P S Please keep us posted - we need all the data we can get on successful probiotic treatments.
Yeah well I wanted to be sure, I also had a few other weird things happen, night sweats and feeling rather hyper in the middle of the night, not my regular sleeping pattern at all anymore. It was like going through menopause again and those sysmtoms have long since gone, it has been years since anything like that has happened to me.tex wrote:You really gave it the old college try, alright, but as you say, the third strike might have tipped the balance. It's a pity that our bodies don't come with gauges, that tell us when we're nearing the danger zone, and we need to back off on something.

You are right Shirley, and there just might be some other poor souls out here that this will work for too! I can only hope so.starfire wrote:Aw Deb, don't feel guilty for feeling good. It's wonderful for anybody to feel good. Also, I think it gives others hope.
