Hello all. I just thought I would give a quick update.
I'm home now and resting... I never thought my own bed could feel so good... overall I guess I'm doing ok, still sore and eating very soft foods. nurse nestle is living up to her name and won't leave my side. I've moved her bed into my room as she really wants to be nearby. When I got home she 'cried / talked' for a good 10 minutes and then went into her nurse mode.
I am taking the rest of the week off and have a few followup doctors appointments. I still need the percosets for pain, but only a few doses a day. One thing that was found during the CT scan, was a 2cm mass in my right kidney that they think is a cycst so I will be going for an MRI on Thursday.
There certainly are several posts that I need to respond to by other members and as I get my energy back I should be able to.
Thanks again to everybody for all your kind support.

Joe,
So glad you're home! (And hope you're not up and reading at this hour.) It's always a victory to break out of the slammer.
Good to hear your Nurse is in the room (just washed and moved the dog bed here today - sometimes closer is better, and not just for the pooch!).
GREAT news that your pain control is working at a few doses per day. And fingers crossed for good news from the MRI (that is a miracle technology! - weird as it is for the patient).
Thank you so much for keeping us up to date, and take your time in all things.
Most heartful wishes for speedy and complete healing - and rest!
Love,
Sara

Joe,
I'm glad you're back home. Nestle was probably becoming a nervous wreck - wondering where you were.
I'm just guessing, obviously, but I'll bet that cyst got started at the same time as all your other issues - back when your 25(Oh)D level was 2 ng/mL.
I hope you remember to take it slow and easy - you still have a lot of healing to do.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

So happy they sprung you and that you are home. I am surprised that Nurse Nestle only talked for 10 minutes
Please do take it easy and hopefully, the cyst issue will not be a major impediment to everything you have on your plate for the move. Keep your nurse close.
Love, Maggie

Glad to hear you are home where you Neslte can work her magic in nursing you back to health. How are you doing with eating? I'm sure you lost even more weight.
Good luck on Thursday - hope the spot on your kidney is just a cyst. You don't need anything else right now.

Joe, I saw here and there already messages of you, so I already concluded, he must be doing better. I am glad you got home yesterday (?) or today. And really you are going to take this week off work ???? Is this a male thing? Or an American thing? You had quite a heavy operation not even a week ago!!!! They have removed a part of your small bowel. Well I think it is quite logical to take some rest after such a turbulent week. You will need your rest and your body needs it to heal.
I am very happy that Nurse Nettle is looking after you (in her way), and she is probably happy because you're home all day now keeping her company (well who is who keeping company).

Thanks again everybody. Harma I think it's a guy thing and I am probably worse than most, us guys tend to have the illusion that we are invincible and that nothing can bring us down.... The funny part is how stupid we look trying to live up to that lie LOL.
I am taking the week off and actually right now it's a absolutely perfect sunny warm day outside and I'm sitting on the lounge out on the deck. Nothing like relaxing like this to let the body heal.
Thanks again all I'm on the mend and doing ok. Now one of my goals is to calculate out how much shorter my intestinal transit time is with the missing bowel....
