Vanessa,

I'm so grateful for you discovering ReMag!

I don't know whether it is due to the ReMag or the selenium I started a week ago, but I have had some pains in my back neck, shoulders and upper arms, which I have thought is detox. If the pains give me insomnia, I just rise and take a pinch of unrefined sea salt and I can sleep 1-2 hours more.

That is really good news Lilja :-)
I put mine in the fridge just because I put it in every thing cold anyway...lol. I also discovered that I am putting 1/4-1/2 tsp in my 16oz carry cup to work...didn't realize I was tolerating it so well now  I have been able to back off the Drs Best which is great....I to am not a fan of such the large pill, but I was doing it.

I'm on day 10 of ReMag and was experimenting with dosage last weekend. I had started at 1/2 tsp but went up to 1 1/2 tsp and that was a no go. Running to the bathroom frequently-just like old times. Did this 2 days in a row before I connected it. Dropped it back down to 1/2 tsp and one mag glycinate pill along with lotion/oil here and there and much better.

Might be my body saying-enough! I'll stick at this level for now.

Love seeing how others are doing with it!

That's interesting Taia since it's touted as not supposing to produce diarrhea. Hmmm but we all know enough is enough in the magnesium world.

Hey Taia,

If you are saturated with magnesium then your body will find a way to release it through the laxative affect even with the Re Mag. Did you sip throughout the day or take it fairly quickly? Good on you for giving it a try. Keep at it. You may see benefits a couple months down the road that you didn't think were connected to magnesium. Since I have soft stool anyway I have to rely on my other mag deficiency symptoms before I know if I'm saturated or not. Looking forward to the day when I'll only need 1/2 to 1 teaspoon a day!

Vanessa-I think in addition to using too much ReMag, I was drinking it too quickly so I've spread it out now. My stools are still not where I'd like them to be but when I was running to the bathroom, it brought me back to those initial symptoms and made me see how much better I've been feeling.

I do plan to keep using it! I'm glad I was able to identify the issue quickly.

Nice to know my body will let me know when it's too much too soon.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hey everybody!
I need to rethink magnesium. I am not absorbing enough Vit D3 in spite of how much I have been taking. I have a lot of inflammation in my body. I need to get control of it. I am C dominant, so I wouldn't mind if the mag helped me with thatn.
How much did you order to start?

Hey Lesley,

I'm glad your still lurking around! Shipping on the ReMag can be expensive, but I would start with 1 bottle to see how you fare. That will be enough to give you a good start. Follow guidelines that come with it and start slowly. Keep us posted!

Hi Lesley,

It's good to see a post from you again. I don't know if you read my story about how I finally figured out my life-long magnesium deficiency and resolved it last year, but I had C all my life, also, and with 20-20 hindsight, I have no doubt that was because of a chronic magnesium deficiency.

Also, I thought of you a couple of days ago when I came across this article in my research:

A TREATMENT FOR POLIO.

What a shame that most doctors apparently never heard of Dr. Neveu's treatment (or wrote it off as a "snake oil" treatment). At the very least, this suggests that most polio patients probably were magnesium deficient, possibly because of a genetic effect.

Good luck with your treatment. It took me roughly a year to completely resolve my chronic magnesium deficiency, but I could see improvement within a day or 2. The reason why I say it took me a year is because up until then, if I missed taking half or more of my supplement, some of my symptoms would return.

Hey Vanessa and Tex. Thank you for answering.
I do lurk occasionally. Always ready to get new info. And the mag info is very interesting. What you found about mag makes sense, Tex. Polio is a lower motor neuron disease. Lower motor neuron destruction destroys the nerves enervating the muscles, so the muscles wither because of the resulting paralysis. Given the effect of mag on muscle function it makes sense that increasing mag to the paralyzed muscles could have a positive effect.

My back has been absolutely TERRIBLE! I have 3 disk bulges to the left and 2 smaller ones to the right. I had an epidural 3 weeks ago that did not work. Doc wants me to do a short course of steroids and some Gabapentin for the nerves. The pain is excruciating and I am about ready to do it, though I really do NOT want to.
I have been taking mag, but it could be that I am not absorbing it properly because it is not really available to me. I KNOW I am not absorbing Vit D because mine is low although I am taking 15,000 IUs a day. I must be using way more than this because there is so much inflammation in my body. Also a mag deficiency could cause it.
So I will order.
Thanks again!

Lesley, I sure hope you feel better and get some sound protocols that you can count on. The ReMag has been helping me tremendously, and I'm one of those who tested critically low on serum blood level multiple times. Know it will take time, but this is the first type of magnesium that has made any dent in my symptoms.

Just had to post regarding Tex and Gabes' vast knowledge about this miracle mineral. My mother had polio as a child (and post-polio after age 50); obviously, genetically that changed her and thus her children, too. My father had such severe migraines and restless leg as a child that he was encouraged to start running every day by the family doctor back in the early 1940's. The neurological symptoms were present in every member of my family (including me).

Just chiming in here as someone who obviously has had lots of inflammation for decades (and 4 herniated lower back discs plus ruptured 5th one - I get it!!) - the picture starts to become clearer as pioneers like Tex, Polly, Gabes, Vanessa, Erica and so many others share their experiences here. Thank you to each of you who share so openly and with such generosity of spirit so that all of us can learn and improve our health.

PS ... I've been having some luck applying ReMag transdermally to my lower back and sometimes to my feet and calves when they cramp. It's interesting because the topical magnesium oil that I use (and still do use it) does not begin to impact me the way ReMag does.

YAY Holly,

So awesome that this stuff is working for you! I can just imagine your dad sprinting and then feeling worse after sweating out more mag! How have we all survived this long? Of course in 1940 he was still getting good mag from soil so........ assuming he was absorbing it properly.
