I don't get constipated, and never have. I only get D. When I did the entrolab test, my number was 3 on the test, for casein. I am more worried about Soy. Because it was a 9 on the Test. I am having Normal BM's right now. But I know in 5 or 6 days I will have D, at night.

Gabes, I found some Ground Turkey that didn't have Rosemary at all. I looked all over the city, until I found a small meat shop 1 Mile from my House. It should help my daughter, because she can't eat anything hardly. I have also started taking Magnesium and Vit D

I've got a manual grinder and an attachment for my Kitchenaid. It's easy to grind meat and probably safer! I know what I'm eating!

that's great that you found soy free source of turkey.

Deb's suggestion is a good one, making your own ground meat is another good option.
Quite often here in Australia, lamb leg is cheaper than ground meat, so I will ground it up myself.

You should be OK with casein then (at least after the inflammation fades away). Remember that when our intestines are inflamed we are also lactose intolerant, so if you eat or drink any dairy products, it would probably be a good idea to stick with low-lactose dairy products (until after your inflammation damage has healed). Aged cheese, or lactose-free milk, for example, should be OK now. You can even get lactose-free ice cream.

My original test result for soy was 8 (back in May, 2005), and soy didn't bother me back then. But I avoided soy anyway, except for trace amounts in supplements, etc. 10 years later (September, 2015) I had a reaction to peanuts so I did a soy stool test again and sure enough, the result was 20. So it's certainly possible for soy tolerance to fade away.

I was Lactose Intolerant 15 years before I developed MC. But thanks for the suggestions.

That suggests that you may have had low level intestinal inflammation during those years, also.

Don't know. But as long as I didn't ingest lactose, I had no symptoms of anything.

As far as me right now, I was doing pretty good until yesterday, but took some Immodium before the D came. It took 9 days. I am waiting to see a GI to see if I can get the Test ordered from him, so my insurance will pay for it. If doesn't work, I will get it on my own.

If your PCP seems more accommodating you might be able to get him or her to order the tests for you.

No. But I read this, and it doesn't cause any symptoms from it.

Most medications do not contain enough lactose to cause lactose intolerance. But some patients with severe lactose intolerance may experience symptoms.

Agreed
but in your case that you have had long term lactose intolerance it may be contributing (not root cause but contributing) to the ongoing D issues you are experiencing.

Gabes

This thread brings back memories (not good ones) back in the beginning of my MC, immodium with lactose gave me A big flair with D
I even had to give up my sugar free gum (artificial sweetener contained lactose)

Terry,

Thanks for sharing that information. It's hard to beat actual personal experience for verifying the threats posed by ingredients that should never have been added to medications in the first place.

yes... it is a very sad reality that in MC world 'just a little bit' of a trigger ingredient can cause big issues
