Hello,

It is September and I'm doing well. No symptoms of my colitis. I have been eating pears and peaches, added to smoothies.
Active, still walking for 1 hour daily and more, depending. It is so good to feel well. Watching my urine out put is a good indication of my colon health
and daily formed BM.
I'm cruising with my daughter in November on the Carnival Ship Mari Gras. They offer gluten free food items.

Hi,
I made homemade tomato soup recently, stressful reaction to it. Off the list of "not to do".

Virtually all of us react to the high citric acid content of tomatoes, until we've been in stable remission long enough for our intestines to have healed significantly.

Hi,

I am back from my cruise with my daughter. There were gluten free food items such as bread, cereal and of course fruits and vegetables, rice etc...
Ingredients on the back of packages is of great importance for checking for gluten free. As always I make homemade vegetable soups, make fruit smoothies and eat a variety of vegetables, rice, beans , gluten free cereals and bread. Getting on with life, including the messy parts.

Hi,

Mary here. Plant based, gluten free, no corn, nuts, dairy, eggs and spices. Well and unwell days. Stress, not enough sleep and fluids cause havoc. Life is a gift. A bowl of cherries with the pits left inside. If it presents you with lemons, make lemon aid.

I agree, we all have to play the cards that we are dealt in life, and make choices that we feel are best for us. As the French say, "c'est la vie."

No one seems to have much luck with it, as far as improved healing is concerned, but it shouldn't hurt, to take it.

my understanding is that Aloe Vera is calming to the gut, not sure about healing properties

Nutrients such as Vit D3, magnesium, amino acids are the items key to healing the gut

Hi,

What is your opinion about the use of collagen for the healing of the gut?

I don't know if the jury has made a decision on that or not. I don't see anyone here giving it rave reviews, or dissing it, either, so I'm not sure that it makes much difference either way, for most of us, anyway.

Hi,

Such negative response. I have made it a study for the sake of my colon health to use natural means. It takes time and patients to see results and not just popping medicated pills for suppressing and masking symptoms, eating whatever one wants . I was on a med, I know. I am pleased with my efforts. Medications have their place but so does personal efforts and educating oneself. I gleam the sensibly of other educated people who are most willing to help others, in a up building attitude. A waste of words.

Hi,

Here's to healing the colon lining. It has taken patients and time, not oh well. I drink Aloe Vera juice ( daily amount is on the label) brand is Lily of the desert mixed with half apple juice and water first thing in the morning. Two collagen supplement pills, one zinc and one D3 ( crushed) mixed in a fruit smoothie ( breaking down of the fiber is easier to digest) or in soup. I also mix in a tablespoon of chi seeds ( soaked in a bit of water, paste) and a tablespoon of flax seed. Gluten free and plant based diet. I am peeing up a storm which tells me that my colon is extracting the water more from the liquid waste coming from my small intestines. I'm getting healing results...

Hi,
I am spring cleaning. I love spring time.
My colon is responding to the collagen, D3, zinc, chi seed, flaxseed etc...plant based diet. It is healing! There is no known cure for collagenous colitis but just saying "oh well" just doesn't cut it for me. Gluten free , no wheat very important to read labels on food packages. Puree fruits (smoothies) and vegetable soups breaks down the fiber, easier to digest. Trying my best and hoping to be helpful to others who are reading this forum.
