Of course, if you only wrote for the benefit of this community, you'd just be preaching to the choir. The instructive feedback will come from the doubters/questioners, just as a student gets probing feedback from a teacher, and then chooses to act on it, or not. My former students always told me that, in retrospect, they appreciated that I was their toughest critic, even if they didn't like it at the time.
