I'm due a thyroid checkup this month (hypothyroid) and hoping I get good test results as I purposely lowered my dose of Armour thyroid as I was getting symptoms of hyperthyroidism after giving up gluten.

Sydney....some people react to the BHT preservative in the Chex cereals. Also, have you had tests done yet to determine whether or not you are intolerant to rice or corn? So sorry you got D but hoping it was short-lived.

Terri
Hi, Terri.

You are fortunate to be able to eat saturated fats. I miss butter! And scrambled eggs.

My DO re-checks my thyroid levels every 3 months, since I began Rebif for my MS. It can interfere with the thyroid, and I have had to have my thyroid replacement re-adjusted.

I suspect I need an increase, as I have been very cold lately, I am having Labs on Monday and have an appt, with my DO on the 27th.

I cannot eat corn, but I have no intolerance to rice.

Sadly...the D is ongoing. And the burning is awful, once again. It had just started to improve, when I drank the Almond Milk.

Thanks,

Sydney

Sorry about the D Sydney. It might just be easier to wait a while before trying new things. Coconut milk might work for you down the road though.

Terri, avocados are not a saturated fat, they are momoUNsaturated... like olive oil. :)

Thanks, Leah.

Yes, I've decided not to try any new foods, until the MC is in remission.

@Leah.....I knew avocados were the healthy fats. But I do eat some saturated fats which I probably shouldn't... like from beef and probably a few other things. What is safflower oil? I eat plenty of that in my corn chips. Don't know if that's considered a saturated or unsaturated fat. And we won't talk about all the saturated fat I ate over the holidays...lol! And I just now ate a bunch of GF french fries. But will have no issues with them, thank goodness.

@Sydney....sometimes I eat Chex as a snack without the almond milk. Sorry the almond milk isn't treating you well. I haven't tried the Coconut milk yet.

Hi, Terri.

I've been munching on the Rice Chex as a snack.

Thanks, I was disappointed that I couldn't tolerate the almond milk.

HI Terri. Safflower oil is also UNsaturated. I use it sometimes.I also look for it in chips because canola is terrible. I ate some french fries the other day and was also fine ( but very full for a long time).
