Vacation

Post by Delta »

I can hardly believe it went by so fast. We enjoyed it, suffered through some smokey days due to the wildfires in the area, in fact we cut it short by a week or so because of the smoke. While at the cabin we made at least 2-3 side trips each week, visiting places we've never been to like Amjuwahi lava springs State Park and many places we've been too but since forgotten like Fall River Mills, Dunsmuir, Mt. Shasta, McCloud. I am always reminded of just how grand this place we call home is and how lucky we are to have had so many good men and women gave their lives to protect it for us.

We travelled the "Bigfoot Highway" and while I didn't see one I'm certain they're out there waiting for someone not carrying a camera to spook

I hope you all had a good summer!

Dan,

Welcome back! No wonder the time went so fast - you two apparently stayed pretty busy. Thanks for the great, (as always), photos. Love 'em.

 I was so glad when I saw you had posted pictures. They are so lovely. I love them all but was so impressed that you even thought to take the one you called Heaven. It is so beautiful.

Welcome Home!!!!!

thanks I'm glad you all liked them, there are 1200-1300 more that need to be sorted and catalouged. these were some of the last photo's I took, we spent a week with my Mother, Sisters and Nieces at Lake Shasta, 12 women and me, what a fun time we all had.

Heaven can't be easily explained and we each have our own ideas of what we want it to be, now mind you I'll be happy with whatever it is, but if I was able to choose it would be the fresh smellof pine, cedar and fir, big tall trees as far as the eye can see and meadows of wild flowers, birds everywhere, a little trout stream and a bass pond would do just fine

everyone sees something that catches their fancy or imagination, a camera helps you become more observant, it's definately helped me to slow down and enjoy the little things in life.

this is one of those peculiar little things I've only recently noticed. At vista points and pullouts at nearly everyplace we visited I found that people hammer bottle caps into the gaurdrail posts. I have no idea why or how this started but it was fun to look at all the different caps and where the people might be from.

Great photos Dan and thanks for posting them and letting me relive some of those places. I also love the bottlecaps people hammer in the posts, etc.

Love, Maggie
