Nutrition Guide for Fructose Malabsorption - 2009

Post by Carole »

Found a website that i haven't seen mentioned here (that's not to say it's not here - there's so much - but i didn't find it). It lists FODMAP diet foods that are safe to eat, those to try in moderation, and those to avoid. i think it will make it easier for me to try this having it listed this way. http://www.healthhype.com/nutrition-gui ... ption.html

Carole,

This technically isn't FODMAP, only fructose. There are foods listed that are high in polyols, fructans and galactans that aren't on FODMAP (mushrooms, beets, avocado, stone fruits etc). Fructose is only one of the poorly absrbed short chain carbohydrates that could be problematic for people with gut disorders.

Mary Beth,
Thanks for clarification. There is such a steep learning curve to all of this - wonder if i'll ever get it figured out!
