Anyone Interested In A Chat Monday Evening? :gathering:
Hi all,
It's been a long, long time since we've used the chat room. If there's any interest, let's schedule a chat for Monday evening, say at 8 pm Eastern time, 7 pm Central, and 5 pm Pacific time. I believe that time would be equivalent to 1 am, Tuesday morning, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and 9 am Tuesday morning, in Hong Kong, in case anyone in those locations has time to join in. I believe it would be 11 am in Brisbane, Australia, on Tuesday morning, and 12 pm in Canberra, Australia. It would be 2 am, Tuesday morning, in Madrid, Spain, and Groningen, Netherlands, so that's probably a bit late for anyone in that time zone. If there's any interest, we can schedule future chats at different times of the day, so that those unable to join this one because of the late time, will be able to join in.
Be sure to try the Chat Room first, to make sure that you can successfully log in. The Chat Room is set up on this board, so that login is automatic, provided that you are logged in on the board. Anyone who is not logged in to the board, cannot even see the "Chat" link, therefore, anyone not logged in, cannot join the chat. To log in, all you have to do is click on the "Chat" link, toward the top of the page. It's a good idea to try it ahead of time, to make sure that it loads correctly. The chat runs on Java, so if it doesn't load for you, you may need to update your version of Java. Sometimes it takes a while to load, the first time that you access it, but after that, it should load in just a few seconds.
For anyone not familiar with the way the Chat Room works, here's a brief rundown: Once you log in, you'll see the usernames of anyone present, in the column to the right, (under the heading "Online"), and the messages will appear in the larger window to the left. You can type your message in the long narrow window below there, and either click on the "Send" button, or hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard, to post a message. You may have to click on that message-composing window first, in order to get the cursor to show up there, so that you can key in your message.
The row of icons just above the message-composing window will allow you to do various things, such as add smilies and/or sounds to your message, change the font size, clear the display, turn the timestamp on or off, turn the audio on or off, etc. If you want to hear the sounds, be sure your computer speakers are turned on, and the volume is set high enough so that you can hear them. If you click on the "Float & Dock" icon, you can latch onto the chat window, and drag it anywhere you prefer, on your screen, with your mouse. Clicking on the "?" icon will bring up a page of instructions on using the chat, but disregard the info about logging on - your username will be the same as your username on the board. If you click on the last icon on the right, (with the little green arrow pointing to a door), the system will log you out of the chat. If someone types your username in a message, your computer will beep, to alert you about the message addressed to you.
And least, but not least, don't sweat the typos, they just add to the fun. If you have any questions about any of this, or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask, preferably ahead of time, because once the chat begins, everyone will stay pretty busy reading messages, and responding to them.
The chats usually last for a couple of hours, (sometimes longer), as members come and go, so if you happen to be running late, you still might be able to join before it ends. We hope to see you there, if you have some time to visit.
Tex

Hi Tex, I would love to join in but my computer at home bit the dust a week ago and is in the shop. I'm at school now and checking in. I've had some time off and haven't been able to check the mc board and I'm lost without all of you. I'm still doing great on the D-Mannose and hope everyone finds something that fixes this mess for them. I will be thinking of all of you tonight and wish I could join in. JoAnn

Hi Tex
As you already imagined, 2 am was pretty late for me in Spain so I could not join the chat... I am sure that you had a wonderful time...
Hope to join another one when the hour is better for me... December will probably be difficult as we have too many holidays + family gatherings, friends come to visit, etc.
But I will be around reading the forum, as I use to.
Take care my dear friends,
Love,
Tessa

Hi Tessa,
Maybe next month, after the holidays settle down a bit, and life returns to a more normal pace, we'll try to schedule a chat earlier in the day, maybe on a weekend.
Love,
Tex

Hi Liz,
We might try to schedule another chat at the same time next week, and maybe you'll be able to join that one.
We've missed you around here.
Love,
Wayne
