banned email address
How do I find out why my email address was banned? Sorry I'm not asking this question via pm; I don't have enough posts to be able to do this.
Hi,
Asking a question such as that in this forum is perfectly fine. To be honest, I can't find any evidence to indicate that your e-mail address has been banned, (on this board, anyway). If it were banned, the system wouldn't have allowed you to register. When I click on your e-mail button, the system properly opens an e-mail composing window, which would allow me to send you an e-mail, if I wished to do so.
I checked your profile, and I notice that you selected to not display your e-mail address, (which is the default selection, if I recall correctly), but that has nothing to do with banning.
Your account is not disabled, (IOW, not set to inactive), obviously, since you are able to post. Sooooooo, I'm not sure what you're referring to. What makes you think that your e-mail address is banned? Did the system send you an e-mail notifying you of that? If that's the case, I would appreciate hearing about it.
If I have overlooked something, and it actually is somehow banned, I can manually un-ban it.

The question was a general one. Because my email was banned, I set up a new account with a different email address. Is there some way that I can send you the name of that account, find out why it was banned and possibly set up my account with that email address.
You noticed that I hadn't posted for two years. That was because I became frustrated with what seemed to me to be an arbitrary banning which was followed by no response, at that time, from tech support. So I decided to join a different support group. However, I have revisited this site and would like to participate.

I'm very sorry that happened, and yes, if you will send me the account name, and the email address that was banned, I'll definitely do my best to track it down, and find out what happened. Regardless of what happened, I should be able to manually un-ban that address, so that you can use it here on the board. The question was a general one. I certainly can't blame you for doing that - I very likely would have done the same thing. While we do try to weed out spambot registrations, in order to prevent the board from being inundated by spam posts, and we also try to eliminate registrations by certain known humans, who join discussion boards all over the world, just so they can post spam, we would rather see 10,000 spammer registrations slip through, than to wrongfully prevent a single legitimate user from joining in our discussions. I sincerely apologize for the problem, and especially for the apparent lack of tech support at the time, and I will do whatever is necessary to ensure that the email problem is resolved. I appreciate your pointing out this problem, so that it can be corrected. You noticed that I hadn't posted for two years. If you will scroll down to the bottom of this page, and click on one of the links that say "this address", just above the red disclaimer section, you should be able to send me an email.
