Happy & Hot Friday!

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Morning Everyone,

Here's to a great Friday for everyone and really - TGIF. This has been a ridiculously hot and humid week in the East and hopefully tomorrow we will get a slight break for the weekend and it will only be in the high 80s and may be less humid. We have gone day after day with heat advisory warnings for a new group - they are calling it "highly urbanized area" - now why isn't it just hot everywhere?

Hope you all have a great day and weekend.

Maggie

Hi Mags!

I love the way everything gets "named". I heard on the news this AM that our educators want to stop using the word "fail". They want to replace it with "deferred success" or something like that. What a hoot! Just like the politicians who are always trying to put a spin on everything.

Since we are in neighboring states, I know what you mean about the heat/humidity! Stay cool!

Love and a

It's cool here today

We've got a cloudy day today and might even get a bit of rain, but supposed to clear up by Sunday. Hope so, we've going to Peg and Ron's for a salmon barbecue (the one we were supposed to cook when Gaea was at Peg's).
I'm still up to my ears in sewing, so haven't been visiting here too much, but learning lots and enjoying every minute of it.
I also have a couple of new beading projects lined up - magnetic beads and memory wire bracelets and necklaces. I've heard there are healing properties in magnets, so thought it might be fun to try some. I got the wire yesterday and am waiting on delivery of the beads, which I found on a website back East that I buy beads and supplies from.
I love learning new things - keeps the old grey matter functioning.
I still want to pursue writing and illustrating children's books, but haven't done much with that yet. I've just done a couple of books, one for a friend's daughter and one for my granddaughter for her 10th birthday. I loved doing them, though, and will definitely pursue it sometime in the near future.
Well, back to my sewing for now. We're going to a restaurant called "The Fifties" for lunch today, so I'm going to wear my retro shirt I made - it's shaped like a poncho and has beads around the neckline and is tie dyed material.
Have a nice day, everyone.

Love - Momster

Hi Maggie and Polly!

It's been the same here: hot and so humid. Green stuff is growing on our house and the bird feeders, and it smells out there too! This morning was a tad cooler and I ventured out for a walk. Yesterday it was too hot, even very early. All I hear from Bruce during this kind of weather is
"desert" and "California". Some day I'll be writing from there

Love,
Alice

Momster sent me a picture of her tye dyed shirt and it is gorgeous! I don't know what kind of material she used, but if was kind of like satin and with the beads around the neck, she will look like one foxy chick!! Oh, it's coral colored. Fabulous!!!

Hot here, too, although not so bad as some places. I am just a wuss.

Lots of love,

Sally
