MRI results are in...

Post by CAMary »

I have confirmation of a disc herniation in my neck...since I am having good pain control, we will continue with that and I begin PT next week. I have some weakness in the right arm, which we will work on with the PT and as long as it doesn't get progressively worse, it looks like I can hopefully avoid surgery. Doc says surgery recommended for unrelenting pain or progressive weakness.

Boy an MRI is a *bangin'* good time, eh? It would've given me a headache if I wasn't on pain meds already! And why do they let you make a music selection when you can't hear a darn thing over all that clatter?!

Oh well - at least it's what he anticipated - nothing worse! And these painkillers are stopping me up - I actually had to get some Colace to help with that - who'da thunk it?!

And I'm opting to milk this for all it's worth - I told my kids it is too painful to load/unload the dishwasher or do laundry - it's working well

It will be interesting to see what the PT decides to do to me!

Mary---so sorry to read of the herniated disc----let us hope that some PT might help it---
I had to laugh about the MRI and the music--right U R---I guess they figure it might grab U to HUM along and not hear the clatter of that rack--Let me know how U make out with PT and if they can work on that issue~~

We have a great PT guy here--I have used him several times with great success-----

Keep us updated as to how U things go~~~
And of course U need help doing home chores~~~makes the kids feel very IMPORTANT when *mom* needs their help!!

much luve--

Morning Mary,

So sorry to hear that you are dealing with such pain. Been there, as they say, and done that so I can totally sympathize. I also cannot understand why they ask for your music selection. You can't hear yourself think in that tube.

Love, Maggie

I've had 2 MRI's...first on my ankle, and I could hear the music because my head was out of the tube...second on my head and I don't think they even offered me music...

Take it easy and follow orders...nothing worse than back/neck pain. I've got some issues in my upper back right now, but they are doing okay, and I'm trying to work through on my own, including light weight lifting...I think some may be due to my chronically bad posture.
