The time has long passed for mandatory genetic testing to be done that would identify future health risks. Think of the money saved if people didn't get sick from these diseases that could be prevented.
Couples who know they have genetic risks are routinely genetically tested before they conceive a child. Somehow I don't see the difference in a disease that presents at birth or one that is a hidden time bomb.
