Hi all -
Not quite sure how to even describe this - but for the past few days I just have an uncomfortable heavy feeling in my stomach - higher up, not the normal gurgly places... I've been staying on GF and CF - I just don't feel all that good - no D still, not "normal" (whatever that is), but not the water faucet that has defined me in my LC.
Drinking lots of water and not sleeping well (possibly entocort side effect). Uncomfortable "heavy" feeling.
Any clue?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
It sounds as though you might have gastroparesis. I have occasionally had the problem during a flare. It's caused by inflammation or some other effect which interferes with the normal peristaltic action of the stomach, resulting in a failure of the stomach to empty it's contents properly. Typically, with gastroparesis, eating when the stomach is already full, will tend to cause nausea.
Gastroparesis is often associated with diabetes, but several of us here have had the problem, despite not having diabetes, so apparently it is a side effect of MC, in some cases.

i very quickly got over my self conciousness about discussing about poos and gas.
this is the one place where we can ask questions without it being an offensive taboo subject.
it is a relief (pun intended) to ask the question and get understanding about what our digestion system is doing.
if I have had loperamide, 2 days later i have the heavy feeling and then the next day i have a day where i do the BM's you describe (4 or 5 in the day) by about the third time i am thinking NO WAY can all of that fit in there.
