Thanks Gabes,

All in all, Dr. Crowe did pretty well on those responses. She got a little shaky on the next to last paragraph, where she said that patients without either of the two most common celiac genes can often resume eating gluten, after their symptoms disappear. Sure, they can go back to eating gluten, but sooner or later, they are going to begin producing enough antibodies to initiate a reaction, and they will relapse. Overall, though, that appears to be a very healthy "attitude" for a GI doc. Kudos to her.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

yes it was a small step towards you dont have to be celiac to be gluten intollerant.... remember she wouldnt want to alienate those big pharma's that will pay for her next conference to hawaii!!!

we know that we have to be patient with this. I dont think we will see a radical change by the GI docs for at least 5 years.
