Soy may be out!

Post by Rome »

So everything was going great, no cramping, feeling good, (stopped eating nuts), no dairy. I decide to try soy milk, soy yogurt instead. I had a yogurt yesterday, no prob. Drank a small glass of soy milk, had a little discomfort, not bad. Tonight I ate another yogurt as desert, and after a couple of swallows I immediately start cramping and getting "that feeling". I quit eating it and thew it away. I was on the way to my nieces softball game and managed to make it through the game. I am not sure if that is it or not, but will definitely try elimination to see what happens. I did buy hemp milk also to try. Haven't tried it yet though.

On a good note, I ate out for the first time at What-A-Burger, ordered a double meat burger without the lettuce or bun. The attendant told the person making my order personally what my order was (NO BUN). Later I took my daughter to Maggie Moo's (ice cream parlor that makes their ice cream in the store) and found that they had raspberry sorbet dairy free. I asked what else was in it because I cannot have glutens either and the attendant told me the ingredients and assured me that it was gluten free, (raspberry puree, orange juice, water, sugar). She then washed the utensils she was going to use (in front of me  ), placed wax paper on the cold slab (I wanted real raspberries mixed in), and then was very careful not to get any on the slab. She told me they carry that flavor all the time, and to be sure to tell whoever serves me that I am dairy free, gluten free, and they SHOULD take the same precautions she did. That made me SO HAPPY! It was very yummy too

Til next time!

I was hoping I could just get by without gluten or dairy  I will just try to eat things I know don't make me sick, and then add the soy to see what happens. I will give myself a day to rest without it though.

I decided that I needed to eat this morning before going to bed (I work tonight 7p-7a), so I ate some chex rice cereal with soy milk. It has been about an hour now and nothing...... no cramping, no "bubbling bum" as Gabes would say (I love that expression Gabes! he he) Hmmm....it makes me wonder what happened yesterday with the yogurt. What could have triggered the cramping?

Til next time!
