Feeling better

Post by belgiangirl »

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know how I am getting on. It has been 10 days since i started the Enterocort and I feel an improvement already. However, today I ate out in a restaurant, had fish with cooked vegetables and rice. I suspect the fish must have been cooked with butter, because half an hour after the meal I started to have bad D and was sick all afternoon. I have to remember to ask for grilled fish, but this is all still very new to me.

love,
annie

Hello Annie I am glad that you are starting to feel better. It certainly can be problematic trying to eat out. I also have had limited success in this.

Thanks for the update I hope you continue to feel better.

Thanks for the update

Annie,

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at the restaurant. I rarely eat away from home, any more, because it's so difficult to find safe food in some locations.

It's great to see that you are doing better otherwise, though.

Thanks for the progress report.

Love,
Tex

Hi Annie,

I'm so glad to read your report that Entocort is already working for you. It truly can be a miracle drug when it works and has no side effects.

Any one of the foods you ate in the restaurant could have included butter. I've been to restaurants where butter has been added to vegetables and rice.

I'm no longer eating out because even the "safest" foods can have unsafe ingredients, but also because I can no longer eat chicken or beef - the most common meats offered.

Hi Annie!

As some here know, I have been known to take an entire meal with me to a restaurant! LOL! Seriously! When you have been dealing with food intolerances for as long as I have (almost 10 years) you become totally proactive........ and nothing is embarrassing any more.

Glad to hear about your progress!

Love,

Polly

On our recent trip I took my cooked rice and banana into the fast food resturant and ordered broiled chicken while my husband ordered something more. I'm sure it was the restuarant food that caused all my problems on our vacation. Now I'm paying for it. I am going to be writing more about our trip later.

Wow that makes sense. I've ordered things I've learned on here should be safe but still had issues. BUTTER! Yup, yup yup! Yummy but so common. Hmmm......
