How long did it take you to feel better?

Post by IDreamInColor »

I have had the scooties for months and months, but I just blamed it on my graves disease. But then on August 16 I became very ill with the scooties, 10+ times per day, and barely eating because of it. I wound up at the ER twice, doctor after doctor, test after test and finally got my diagnosis (MC) about 2 weeks ago. The doctor gave me questran and sent me on my way. After researching I decided to go gluten free (the doctor didn't say anything about that.) So I've only been gluten free for about a week now. How soon can I expect to start getting back to normal? The questran helps somewhat but I'm still in the bathroom frequently.

once i had diagnosis, found this website the same day, adopted a gluten free, low fibre, 'simple' eating plan, It took me 3 weeks (with questran and loperamide assistance) for things to settle down so that i was only doing 2 - 3 BM's a day - these were still soft but not watery.

9 months later following a gluten, yeast, dairy, soy free, low fibre simple eating plan I am D free with no meds.
at the moment
A normal day for me is soft BM's 2 times
a less than ideal day for me is soft BM's 4 - 5 times with pain and discomfort

I only have D if I ingest gluten, dairy, yeast or too much soy

If i get a bit tired and run down or my immunity is struggling i tend to get inflammation, pain and discomfort but no D

Hope there is some sunshine in amongst the clouds, and that you are starting to figure out a eating plan that will work for you

be patient - the end result is worth it
