Greetings all-hope holidays were super

Post by barbaranoela »

Tis been awhile that I popped in but I do hope U all had a wonderful Christmas----

This is the first time that the season didnt bring me any joy-----instead all I did was think back of all the years past when my family was all around---hustleing and bustleing---hiding presents yet know that we all snuck around to find where they were hidden-- and the way I decorated our tree--tinsel hanging strip by strip and getting nutso when the dogs would walk past the tree and distrurb my tinsel--- thinking of my mom and dad and specially my brother Robert--I miss him so very much---

Remembering all the folks that popped into our house--and the night when we would have all our Legion friends over for a special Xmas celebration--

And at Xmas eve a bunch of us---would go around to all the houses and sing carols--even our Jewish friends looked foward to the *eve*----and then going to Joan and Steve's for hot cocoa and a little nip of the brew to warm the inners----of course the kids had hot cocoa--

I thank all of U that sent me cards----
Spoke to Uncle Muscles---he sounds great and cousin Ted--plus whoever is around --are cleaing out the house --and as I had said before my aunt jean and uncle Chum lived upstairs but Uncle Walter(muscles) would not let us see the place---figured it was full of junk but I heard that if I had walked in--I would have thought that aunt Jean and Uncle Chum would have come out and greet us-----so Uncle Muscles did keep memories alive--

So Christmas was very sad----L. says *tis age* that makes one look back at all the fun times--soooooooooooo I looked at L and said are U saying I am *AGED*
I think this is my last year to come to AZ. --Doug is doing great--he has a great friend--wish I ccould say nicer things of DIL--but I shall stop at that point

I am trying to catch up on post---but knowing I wont---so I do welcome all the NEWER B'S and know that U all found a terrific place for infomation and the best !!!FRIENDSHIPS!!!!
So, I am starting as a OLDER BEE becoming a newer B back HOME!!!
Luve U all---

Morning Barbara,

You card went to NY but was thinking of you on Christmas day and wishing I could have called.

This is actually the first year I did not get down in the mouth about the holiday. Heck, I cooked a 16 pound GF turkey for Frank and I - just the 2 of us.

I remember the old times tooo and it just seemed people gathered around more during the holidays than they do now. If you stay home next year, you just might get some unexpected company.

Love, Maggie

Hi Barb,

as I told you in my reply to your last post, I sent your card to Noo Yawk because i thought that you were not going to Arizona this year. When will you be go9ing home. Do you have a new phone number in AZ? I will call you there if I can.

We had a fairly quiet Xmas except wnen we visited our nephew & his family for Xmas lunch. Ten children ranging in age from a few weeks to nine years of age.

Still having more tests to see if I am up to the knee operation. I added a couple more bruises to those from blood letting & dye injections yesterday. I actually fell out of bed - again. Took me a while to get up as Robert was out for his bike ride & all of my yelling for help got me nowhere. I had very bad cramps in my legs so had to pull myself up back onto the bed. Robert is threatening to put bars on my bed :help:  :noworries:

It has been raining cats & dogs here. Seems like the whole world is having weather problems.

Lotsa love
