The researchers found that the absence of TLR2 leads to microbial changes in the gut that resemble lean animals and humans, as well as immunologic changes similar to those observed in ulcerative colitis.

The problem with that theory is that it suggests that people who have an IBD shouldn't have problems with obesity, but that doesn't seem to pan out in real life.

There are some very interesting observations, in the article, though.

It leaves out the complexity of the issue, for sure, like thyroid/adrenal issues. I actually thought it rather pointed to trying to find an easy answer, but I didn't want to say so in case it came out too cynically.

I don't believe there's any need to worry about appearing to be too cynical about medical research, with this group. :lol: We all tend to view most research with a jaundiced eye. :grin:
