Packed and Ready to Fly!

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Morning Everyone,

Yesterday was spent packing and we are ready to cross the pond to Merry Old England. We are leaving Thursday at 2:30 PM for the airport and will be flying out of Newark, NJ to Manchester, England. Pick up the car there and Frank will then negotiate the roads - on the wrong side - to Barrow-In-Furness in Cumbria country England - Northwest area of England. We are going to be staying on Walney Island on the Irish Sea which is about 9 miles from Jay, Michelle and Baby Gabriel and the rest of Michelle's very large family. Will return to the U.S. on 8/27 and back to work on the 29th.

Will be totally out of touch with everyone but will be thinking of all of you often. Will not be checking in too much this week but I have to say that my lifeline will be sorely missed while we are gone.

Best thing about England other than the family is that they are definitely the most gluten friendly country we could have packed.

Love, Maggie

Have a great time, Maggie. Bet you'll see a lot of new birds: European birds, sea birds, you lucky girl! I think in England birders are called twitchers. You'll be a twitcher for the month of August.

Mags!

Finally you will see that new grandbaby! How exciting! Take lots of photos to send to Sally, kay?

I know you will have a wonderful time. As soon as the plane takes off, have a few stiff drinks and take a snooze. You will be there before you know it!

I can't wait to hear all about it.......and I'll be interested to hear about the GF options. Although you may not see too many since it sounds as if you will be a a rural area. An island!

Add lots of birds to your life list! :raven: :mallard: :kiwibird: :bird1: bird3:

Have a safe and relaxing trip, dear friend. Will miss you LOTS!

Love, :pulsinghearts:

If I were there I would give you bread (which you can give to Frank) and salt. Those are wishes for a safe journey and may you never run out of something to eat. According to the Greeks.

Anyway, it sounds lovely. Have a wonderful time and snuggle with that baby for all of us. We will miss you.

Lots of love and namaste.

Maggie!

I can't believe it's time for your trip already! That's great and I know you'll have a ball with your new little grandson!

Just the names of the English towns, etc. makes me want to go there.
It sounds so picturesque. I'll miss you. Tell Frank to take it easy driving on the wrong side of the road......can be tricky

Thanks everyone for all of the well wishes and I am going to take a lot of non-digital pictures - not there yet on digital. Will get them to the board when we get back.

I am really excited but trying to figure out how to spend 3 hours when we get to the airport. Eat at a restaurant for a baked potato since they have no GF meals on Continental. And rush somewhere to get in the last cigar before the 7 hour flight.

See you all on the 30th.

Love, Maggie
