Califgranny-

Many people have fibromyalgia-like symptoms with MC. I'm sure Tex will chime in here and give you some links to threads specifically about this problem. Many seem to find relief with diet changes, especially by eliminating gluten.

Hi Granny,

I'm not sure what you mean by nerve pain, but gluten can cross the blood/brain barrier, and cause neurological symptoms. Several of us, myself included, have peripheral neuropathy, which can cause symptoms such as lowered nerve sensitivities in the feet, lower legs, hands, etc., (including the loss of, or reduction in the ability to feel pain, heat, cold, etc.), loss of reflexes, numbness, tingling, sudden sharp pain, or burning sensation, for no apparent reason, balance issues, etc.

A Mags mentioned, many of us have had the symptoms of fibromyalgia while our MC was active, though the symptoms usually resolve, once the symptoms of MC are controlled. Also, many people with MC experience lower back pain.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Granny,

I have a LLQ and pelvic pain that can be described as a neuropathy. When my GI is more stable, that pain subsides somewhat.
