Since last Tuesday when the doctor told my husband and I that he believes I have MC I have done a lot of thinking. In going over my life I am wondering if I was destined for MC from the beginning. When I was a newborn I was not able to keep formula down. Whenever my mother fed me I would throw up everything. The doctor had to give her medicine for me to settle my stomach. I always got ear infections, colds, strep throat, stomach bugs,and motion sickness as a child. I had an emergency appendectomy when I was 12. When I was 19 and in my early 20s I had terrible hives. My grandmother had diverticulitis. Her sisters had stomach trouble and thyroid problems. I have O+ blood. I could never handle fried foods well. The smell of a carnival makes me sick. It certainly is interesting. Now my husband has RA and Pulmonary fibrosis. His nephew has colitis. Our daughter has asthma and gets eczema. She gets terrible colds and stomach bugs. She does not like greasy foods. She has autoimmune diseases on both sides. I hope she stays healthy and takes care of herself.

there has been a few discussions on the forum that included content about various aspects of childhood and some of the commonalities between us MC'er
I was born with birth defects to my bowels (no ligaments holding them in place) had 3 surgeries before age 25 for bowel contusions. As a child i was constantly on antiobiotics and cough medicine for bronchal infections, i had whooping cough for 9 months, and due various illness and constant ear infections i never actually learnt to swim.
My mother was diagnosed with Crohns aged 60
both my mother and father had considerable contact with the chemical DDT during their childhoods on the farm, and it is my belief that their exposure to DDT is what caused my ligament issue.
