Scientific breakthrough on immune system

Post by Gabes-Apg »

Dr Stephen Nutt, says this will help with medical problems at two ends of the immune-response spectrum - when it's too strong and becomes an autoimmune disease, or too weak because it doesn't identify and attack diseases such as cancer.
good to see some research on the cause and not just the symptoms......

Gabes,

That concept addresses exactly what I have been advocating for some time now, namely that MC is not a result of an overactive immune system - it's the result of underactive, (or a deficient supply of), regulatory T-cells.

Thanks for posting that,
Tex

Tex
googling the main Dr - came up with a listing of the studies others related to T-cells.

my enthusiasm is that I dont believe this research is linked to big pharma (if it was they would have to state that XXX big pharma Co is funding it ) the other part is that it is happening in Australia. Go Aussies! i think Australia's reasonable distance away from the clutches of big pharma encourages non Big Pharma funding of research projects that do look at the cause, not just to find a disease to fit medication that could make millions...

Interesting! You may be on to something there, concerning research funding in Australia.

Thanks,

Great article and an interesting point Gabes. Funding really is the tool that any organization uses to 'convince' the establishment of particular issue. Generally speaking the more maverick a research project the more believable (and useful) the outcome is.
