weird feeling??

Post by willabec »

the past couple of days i have felt a weird feeling in my abdomen....near my ribs, sometimes on both sides at the same time, sometimes one side at a time.....the best way i can describe it is as like a tightening of a muscle or a braxton hicks (for those women out there who have had kids), something like that....anyone out there experience something like this? and if so, what on earth can it be? also, anyone switch from asacol to lialda and have a better experience??

I tried Lialda, but my transit time was too fast for it to have a chance to work. I'm doing much better on Pentasa. I hope you feel better soon!

Yep

have had them since childhood, (have even been hospitalised a few times due to them) and still have them now but alot less since Dx and adopting my MC management plan.

Yes I know the exact feeling you are talking about and it is very similar to a Braxton-Hicks contraction. Almost like my diaphragm is in a spasm. I had it on and off before my official diagnosis but haven't noticed it lately. I don't know what it is but I don't think it is gas--it's not a bubbly rumbling feeling it's more of a tightening, almost breathless sensation. FWIW it never caused me any problems.
