About the re-recall

Post by Peggy »

Funny...tonight Sex and the City showed the episode where Samantha was dx'd with breast cancer after a mammogram!

I went for my second tests today and they apparently need a better camera to see the abnormailty in my left breast.

I'm not worried - RIGHT!

Is there such a thing as "normal" cysts?

Okay - to heck with this - I am prepping for my weekend trip and am so looking forward to seeing our Jill. Nothing else matters right now! Period!

Peg,

Atta girl! You've got the right attitude. Have a wonderful weekend with Jill! And have a toast for me, please!

I will make a bet with you (any amount - you choose) that all will be OK with the :boobs: That's how sure I am.

Love,

Polly

Are they normal? Probably not by design.

Are they very, very often completely benign? YES!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Pegster -

Go off and have fun....this has been enlightening for me....when I go to get squished for the first time (in about 1 1/2 years...), knowing I have cysts myself, I will likely get recalled - now I won't automatically panic about it

Have a great time this weekend!

Love,

Mary

Well, from the "official" :boobs: lady of the board, I can tell you that yes, they say there is such a thing as a "normal" cyst. From everything I understand, once aspirated (and they don't all have to be aspirated), they generally don't come back. I just happen to be one of the "lucky" ones that they have come back everytime my doc aspirated it. I have a follow up on August 17 to see if it has gone away on it's own, or if I will have to have it surgically removed - an easy process, they assure me. Anyway, so far it is still there, maybe a little bigger, so it is looking like it is gonna stay.

Try not to worry, I know that is easier said than done, but remember that 80% of "lumps" turn out to be benign, and when that lump is a cyst, even less of a chance for anything serious. My doc tells me that they only start to be concerned when, after the cyst is aspirated, it refills. And, only if it refills more than once.

Hope this helps somewhat !

Love,

Carla
