Freeda Vitamins

I called Freeda's and asked if any of the ingredients were derived from corn. They said yes that the Vit C, calcium ascorbate, is derived from corn but that there is no corn in the final product. I really feel that I need a vitamin/mineral and calcium supplement. I can eat so few foods that I know that I am not getting what I need from my diet. I also take Vit D3 (not Freedas). Anyone know of other "free" vitamin/mineral companies?

Pat, I just bought a B-vitamin complex from Bluebonnet, which is 'free' of many ingredients I'm avoiding. It agrees with me far better than the supplement I discontinued, but of course may contain ingredients that don't work for you... I don't know enough about the other products in their line to advise, but hopefully you can take a look online and see whether they are a good option.

Best of luck,

Sara

Pat,

Is it a corn free Vitamin C you are looking for or just vitamins in general? I know there are several vitamin c products available which are derived from tapioca instead of corn. I think you can tolerate tapioca and if so, you might try googling for either corn free vitamin c or tapioca vitamin c.

If you can tolerate tapioca maybe this one might work.

I've also used Lucky Vitamins for several different products including some gf,sf,df lotions, soaps and shampoos and what I like about their website is that you can narrow down your search by eliminating the different sensitivities with drop down boxes across the top. Many of the products are coded with what they don't contain including parabens and whether they are organic or not. Most products also contain manufacturer info with a phone number to contact the company if you are unsure of a product. Their pricing is also very competitive.

Sara and Kelly,

Thanks for the info - I will check them out! I really need a complete multi vit/min. It's just that the freeda one seems to have vit c derived from corn and I would like to eliminate all possibility of contamination right now. Maybe I am being too picky.

Pat,

I don't think you're being too picky. I think you're being prudent and doing your best to take care of yourself. Sounds smart to me!

Love,
Sara
