firstly my disclaimer - i am not a good handicrafts person, i can sew enough to fix things or attach a button. I can not knit or crotchet etc.
with my move and unpacking i wanted more covered coathangers for my good work clothes. The ones i have now were knitted by my aunty, and i cant knit, prompted by the fact that i have moved 5 times with a box full of fabric that i was meant to sew some stuff and never have. I got some coathangers and padding and made myself some covered coathangers with the fabric i had.
since the move i have a bit more energy and time, and as i was enjoying the handsewing, i made a couple as gifts for friends, they were received with much delight, that my nights now are making covered coathangers.
Everytime i am near a fabric store, i case out the reject bin or the specials or the end or roll discounts to find fabrics that make really awesome looking coathangers.
One day i got fabric that is normally $40 a metre for $8! as it was slightly damaged and could not be used for clothes (but it is totally fine for coathangers!)
As barbara does not have taste and smell, sending over GF Tim Tams is a present for Louie not for barbara, via Joe i sent barbara some coathangers, I will try to do a photo of them and put it on the post.
All my friends keep saying they need good clothes to put on them, but i am encouraging them to use them for their everyday clothes, life is too short.
