Had a wonderful anniversary

Post by Momster »

We really enjoyed our trip and on Monday, our anniversary, went to the Othello Tunnels, as I mentioned already, rested a lot during the day and I caught my nice trout that night. It brought back good memories of our honeymoon because we also went camping to a little lake in the Okanagan and that time John caught the fish. Seems like we're only destined to catch one fish per camping trip. Oh well, that's okay. I don't care if I catch any fish because the fun for me is just relaxing and enjoying nature and peace and quiet. This last trip I cheated because I caught my fish in a well stocked private pond.
Today I'm resting because I'm pretty achy. Also nursing a few insect bites - I hate insect repellant - the smell is worse than getting bitten!

Talk to you all soon. I'll check the posts in a few hours.

Love - Momster :camping:

 So glad the :camping: went well and you caught the :fishing: .
I'm assuming since all else was good - so was the ANNIVERSARY!!!

Good to have you back and hope you are rested soon. The tunnels sound & look interesting. Glad you were able to go.

Anyone know any good cures for insect bites? I tried corn starch and that helped a bit.

Glad you had such a good trip Mom.

Try toothpaste on the insect bites.

Glad you had such a fun trip. We are campers also--were in your neck of the woods 2 years ago, before I "knew" any of you. But I was thinking, you probably should try not to get bitten. West Nile might be getting out to your coast any year now and you don't want to take a chance. The first cases of the summer are showing up here in the Eastern US.

Nice big fish, by the way!

Speaking of anniversaries--it is our 39th anniversary on Saturday. Doesn't seem like a day over 38 and a half!

Hi Momster...I hope your bites are feeling better....does antihistimine help? I may be dreaming....I guess I remember that I took Benedryl the last time I was stung by a yellow jacket...my arm was soooo swollen that I was afraid that I was having an allergic reaction. I also keep calamine lotion around for mosquito bites. (don't know if it helps much)

Nite nite....JJ

Woo-hoo ya fisherwoman!

Congratulations on your anniversary and it looks and sounds like you had a great time. I love the picture of you.

Did you cook that trout for dinner? If so, bet it was tasty.

Love,
Joanna

Good Morning, All:

Yes, I like that picture too. I haven't caught many fish in my life, so made sure John took a picture of me with it.
We didn't cook it until we got home so we could share it with my Granddaughter, Sare. She and John enjoyed it on Tuesday night. I don't care too much for fish but love shellfish.

Sure enjoyed the trip and wished it could have been a few days longer.

Well, another two coming up in September - one to my Sister's wedding and we're going to stay at her place for a couple of days to rest and then the following weekend we're going to Quebec for 10 days. We may take another short trip to Othello (where we were last weekend) for some more fishing and playing crib. We always play crib on our camping trips. We play for a loonie (a Canadian dollar) and this time I came out 1 loony ahead.

Well, better get my day started.

Love - Momster :coffee:

Well, now we know what is wrong with Momster! (She's one looney ahead! HA HA HA ).

Any particular spots in Quebec you'll be heading? Too bad my September calander is filling fast...Quebec is beautiful territory and not too far from me (although it really does depend where in Quebec).

My parent's 37th anniversary was yesterday. We are celebrating Geoff's parent's 40th next weekend. Must be the time of year for weddings!
