Our beloved William is with God

Post by hoosier1 »

My dear friends:

I am saddened to tell you that we gave our beautiful German Shepherd, William, back to the Lord on Friday. He was almost 12. He majestically battled GSDM (like multiple sclerosis) for 3 years, and was helped for a long period of time by Dr. Clemmons, of Gainesville, FL therapy.

We will always miss and love our dear boy but we know that he is in a place where he can run and play without pain, limitation, or dysfunction... as he deserves. God bless his little heart. St. Francis, please hold him in the palm of your hand. Lord, please glorify his soul.

Polly, I recall when you lost your dog. I completely understand the effect on the GI when this happens. What a train wreck.

I'm sorry that you had to let William go. It's a difficult decision, one that we don't want to make. I hope you will feel better soon. It takes time, but it does get better.

Aww Rih, I'm sorry to hear about William. He was such a spirited dog. Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things - my thoughts are with you.

Rich and Melodee,

I realize how much William meant to you, and how much you meant to him, and so I'm very sorry to hear that he's gone. At least you were able to share almost 12 wonderful years - that's a many a happy tail wag.

Thanks everyone. Your thoughts and prayers mean a lot. Tex, I love the Rainbow Bridge. I do believe in this. If this is not true, I want no part of what awaits us. Such pure souls deserve so much. And we deserve to be reunited with them.

William battled a chronic and debilitating illness, as do we all. And he did so valiantly, as is built into his noble breed. But he finally let us know that enough was enough. And it was our responsibility to let him go, as hard as it was.

A German Shepherd puppy will be in our future. I will let you all know when. Not a replacement for sweet William, just an addition to the family.

For me, I think I may have to take some Entocort. I was doing so well too. Ugly disease this is. But I'd take the all the Entocort in the world if it meant having William at my side again.

Bless you all,

Rich

Hi Oma,

I am sorry for the loss of your pet. I can tell you that the pain you are feeling now does subside with time. In our case, we now have a shepherd pup and a 6 year old golden doodle... Long story on that one.

They help fill the void.

Thinking about you.
