Melissa, Did you get Entocort?

Post by moremuscle »

Hi Melissa,

It's Thursday night and I've just finished reading the two most recent threads for you or by you. It must have been a tough day at work when you were nauseated and had to lie down on the office floor to rest in the middle of the day

I am sorry about the cats too - sounds like Stinky is having some real problems; the lack of appetite is not usually a good sign, is it?! Or maybe Stinky is looking at you and just having "sympathy pains" :???:

Did your doctor agree to write a prescription for Entocort or did he/she want to see you first? Have you started taking Entocort? I am curious to know if you've started, what the dosage is and how you are doing. Please, write back and let us know how you are today, OK!?!

Love,
Karen

The GI gave me a rx for Entecort without seeing me. 9mg per day. But there were no instructions about tapering off so I will have either call him or go see him. I'm feeling a little better. The D has slowed down but I'm really weak and still fighting the nausea. I don't know what it is with me a nausea. Tums don't help, phenergan (sp?) doesn't help. I don't know. Right now I just feel weak and listless. I managed to make it to work on Thursday for a meeting and then I went home. Friday I managed to work 5 hours. At least my sleep isn't disturbed.
Hanging in there.

Hi Melissa,

I sure hope you begin feeling better soon. Phenergan didn't help me either. Nausea is sure the pitts. Tea and toast or soda crackers usually helped me but won't if you are avoiding gluten.

Hang in there. Hopefully you are able to rest this weekend. I'll be thinking about you and sending you "get well vibes".

Hi Melissa,

I am glad for you that you were able to get Entocort via the phone - very convenient, isn't it?! Also glad to hear that the D has calmed down some - feeling tired and bombed out is natural when you have D around the clock; perhaps that is going to ease off a little after the frequency of the D episodes slow down. I would suspect you should be gaining back some energy soon. Don't beat yourself over the head and/or be too hard on yourself - you've done great being proactive and asked for the medicine that will help you get over this bump on the road. You should be proud of yourself for taking action.

It's great that you are able to get some sleep - I envy you that. I often wake up in the middle of the night and struggle with it; of course it isn't because of MC but just life in general and hormonal changes I suspect.

I wish you a good night and hope you will be able to feel comfortable at work tomorrow.

Love,
Karen

Melissa,

Glad you got the Entocort. And I hope the nausea is improved by now. Could you have a little stomach virus? Or were you perhaps a little dehydrated? I used to feel nauseated when I had disturbances in water/electrolyte imbalance. I hope all will look brighter when you get the D and nausea under control. Do you think you could have developed another intolerance?......sigh. Anyway, I'm sending my best wishes for HEALTH!

Love,

Polly
