WHAT A TIME!!!!!!!

Post by barbaranoela »

We were without power for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!and when U constantly go for the lights and they dont work U day some nasty words---well I do !!!!

we walked around with flash lights --I slept most of the time and Mr. Louie ----tried to keep refrig closed but did lose most of it---so today we are out on our shopping spree for food--

we had a few branches come down---very lucky I say---but of course all the leaves and little branches were scattered all over the place---

tis a weird feeling not to see a human being and just hear the rain pounding and the wind howling--

everyone out today *cleaning up*-------

Hope anyone in the way of the storm came thru OK~~~~

Talk later--going shopping for food and my very missed ICE CREAM!!!!! and then some picking up the bigger branches

till later

Mrs. Columbo,

That was a long time to be without power. I'm glad to hear that you and Lou came through OK, with just minor inconveniences. If you had any ice cream on hand during the storm, I hope you managed to eat it all, before it melted.

Thanks for the update.

Afternoon Barbara,

3 days too long I am sure. We were without for about 36 hours and lost a lot and yes I opened the refrigerator door. The Talenti (sp) gelato that I bought on Thursday for almost $7 was the most important thing I lost. Never got a chance to taste it. You slept and I couldn't - the wind and rain just got to me.

Here's hoping the last one this year.

Love, Maggie

You know Barbara sometimes those times can also be a fun time. I remember when the kids were growing up that during a power outage we had lots of fun while playing board games by candelite and cooking meals using the wood stove or fireplace...

Come to think of it... Some of those times of 'hardship' were some of the best as a family.... Makes one think

I'm glad you and yours are all well Barbara.

Joe----family fun

Post by barbaranoela »

Joe when the kids were young and around we did the same thing when we had a power outage---now L. takes a flashlight and tries to read-- and I catch up on sleep-----seems to be I am an Xpert on sleeping-- --and being that a *noise* was not astir --I really relaxed and slept away---

Of course when the wind *whizzed* thru- all I thought of was a tree eyeing my house and thinking of *hugging* us----
I think having our trees trimmed --a few months back---might have been our salvation----

And a double thanks for the terrific neighborhood that we live in---everyone ready to help----

Hi Twinnie,

So glad that you came through it all Ok. Losing your icecream is not as important as your life & health.

I was actually going to call you today to see how you got on but got waylaid by my friend across the street who offered me a cuppa, an offer that I could not refuse. I was out on my morning constitutional up the street about 30 yards & back. That is about all that I can manage at the moment although I walk around the house as much as possible. The infection in my leg has cleared up now but it is still pretty painful.

We were cut off for 3 days in the last floods a few months ago. We had a message to go to higher ground but there is very little if any higher ground in our town so we just stayed put & hoped.

They are predicting a very nasty storm season this year & it has started already in spring. I have candles & torches planted all around the house as we often get blackouts, especially during summer.

Lotsa love

Liz
