opening weekend and pain
Welp...this weekend is opening weekend for Dove hunting....There were sooo many dove hunters at the store that I wanted to tell them all to go home. But in Texas it's all about hunting for some people. Tex Mike is out as I typ Hunting dove. He got three yesterday, of course it takes a bunch of them to make a meal because the are small and the only good meat on them is the breast....They are ok but I'm not crazy about dove. I usually clean the breast real good and stick a jal pepper inside the breast and wrap bacon around it and have the hubby BBQ with mesquite. Couldn't sleep in as everything went to sleep (arms legs etc) except me. tried to get out of bed and almost fell down as knees refused to work for a few minutes. I am so glad I am goint to the reumy doc. What ever he tells me I'll deal with. My mother gave up and went to wheel chair...I have for years refused to give in and give up. I hurt soo bad all the time but I know there is someone out there that hurts far worse and has it far worse...so I will deal with the depression and lack of mobility at times and go forward just as long as I have all of you to vent to. Woke with a headache from H--- this am but have taken an Ultracet and a cup of coffee...Heaven help us all if they quit making coffee. Love to all Oma

Good morning Oma,
I sure hope the headache and pain give you some relief today. It's hard to concentrate on anything when you are hurting so badly.
You go right ahead and vent here - that's what we are here for. Seems I've been doing that lately too!
Enjoy your ! I hope the rest of your day is wonderful!

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Good Morning Oma,
I hope the coffee and Ultracet chase the headache away, and the knees start feeling better, so you can enjoy the rest of the weekend. Hopefully, the new doc will be able to solve your knee problems. You're wise to stay mobile, and not give in, because it seems that once most people give in, and start using a wheel chair, it's almost impossible for them to get away from it again.
Every Labor Day weekend, a lot of big, shiney, new pickup trucks carrying dove hunters, come out of the surrounding cities, and invade the countryside here, too. I don't hear much shooting this year, though. Most of the birds left a few weeks ago, when we had the big rains.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

It's not local hunters that bother me so much as the out of state ones that have no respect for property or live stock because they don't live here. Alot of people these days have no respect. The new breed of hunters leave trash and litter all over as well as kill everything in sight. That's what bothers me most. I remember hunting when My kids were little just to eat and not for fun or throphy. I know that sounds a bit like "when I was a kid we had to walk 5 mi to school" but it's true and makes me upset. But I can't change what people do, I can only account for my actions. I spent this am watching the birds at the bird feeder. Love Oma
