I have a good friend, the same age as me, who was a child in Korea after the war. She and her family ate because of foraging. She still forages, living a comfortable life in rich America. Her children are amazed at the bitter greens she will eat.

Although I have never foraged (except for blackberries), I have eaten foraged food: plantains, nettles, chestnuts, chantrelles--well, I didn't eat those, even though I trust who found them. I haven't eaten fiddlehead ferns, either, though they are pretty popular with the foragers.

That is something I could get into although I've never done it except for different kinds of berries and I ate some dandelion greens once long ago. Didn't care for them at that time but could possibly tolerate them now. I've changed a lot. HaHa

Too bad there aren't some classes. I may look for a book in the library.
