In the past I have used dulcolax (4) and miralax mixed with any clear liquid of my choice
This time he had the office give me a bottle(s) of suprep liquid to mix with water followed by 2 more glasses of water
Than in the AM repeat a second bottle of suprep and the water then off the colonoscopy
Im terrified that I will still be going when I have to leave for the procedure. Not to mention it clearly says to take the second part of the prep at least 5 hours before procedure which means I will be up at 4AM
SOOO does anyone think it will be ok if I just go ahead and do the prep with the miralax as I have previously done
To much stress
Thanks,
K.

K, your last sentence says it all. Too much stress. Above all else, you don't need the stress of trying to figure out which product to take. I know the doctor gave you something new to use. Let me ask you this: with the other colonoscopy, how well did you handle the miralax and dulcolax? Was it tolerable? Because if it was, I would stick with it. Don't try something new. When I was prescribed Moviprep, I googled it and did not like the reviews. 90% of the people hated it. So, I called the gastro office and asked for another option. It was miralax, dulcolax and gatorade. I was so glad I took it. Not the most pleasant thing to drink, and I will never look at Orange Gatorade again without gagging, but I did not have the symptoms like most people described with Moviprep. I have learned to be my own best judge, because in the long run, for better or worse, YOU are the one who makes the decision, not a doctor, who really doesn't care whether or not you are stressed. Take what you have done before. Remember, it worked the last time, didn't it? It cleaned you out, right? The doctor didn't say don't ever take that miralax combination again, did he? So relax, do what you feel comfortable with, not what the doctor wants.
Blessings to you.

Kitty, I did the prep drink (it was called Go Lytely) where i drank the mixture then could sip Gatorade or water in between. I had to drink 1/2 of the gallon, starting at 5 the evening before. Then 4-5 hours before the procedure drink more until everything ran clear. It did work very well. When I nurses were wheeling me in to the procedure room they asked if I finished my prep this morning. I said 'yes I did" and they looked at each other and smiled and said "it's so much cleaner, we get much better pictures and a better look". I only had to drink about 1/2 of the remaining mixture in the morning, and yes I got up at 4:45am to do it but I was very sick and extremely motivated to get it done. I was glad to hear there was a legitimate reason to finish the prep in the morning because I ended up having to take an anti-nausea med at home that morning. I was not still 'going' when it was time for the procedure.... and frankly if I had been I figured they'd have a way to deal with it.
I have not done the Miralax, etc combo so I have nothing to compare it to. I didn't have cramping or many difficulties with the GoLytely. The way I got it down was that I put a green apple Jolly Rancher in my mouth then sucked down a glass full with a straw. Then I spit the Jolly Rancher out and did it again in 15 minutes. Worked ok-- although my mouth was still green the next morning. :)
