PCP apologized

Post by kitty16 »

Hi,

Had my visit with my PCP and I told her how upset I was with her telling my family the D is caused by my being nervous. She said it was just one part of her trying to explain to them what is happening to me. She also told them that she was not happy with the fact that as a doctor she could not find a medicine that gave me some relief. She agrees that diet will be important in helping me.

She told me she told them, among other things, that the intestines have many nerve endings (not that I was nervous) and that stress can effect how things work. Told me my husband told her I have no stress in my life. PCP also said she knew that they did not get it and was very sorry it was upsetting to me. She asked if I wanted to take them off the list of people who she could discuss my care with ( I said no).

So this really was a family situation, I understand there feelings on this, they just want me to be the way I was (especially husband who loves to eat out and travel).

She is the one who put me on Questran, and that does seem to give me slight relief, I know that does nothing for the inflamation. I'm thinking of using some of the Entecort I have leftover with it (on my own not by doctors orders)

Thank you all for being outraged for me on this matter. I'm glad I spoke with her and did not just stop going to her.

Hugs,
K

Morning Kitty,

Glad to hear she was understanding and that you are now feeling better about her. It can be really trying when the family just does not understand and seem to hear other than what you or someone else says to them.

Love, Maggie

Kitty,
So glad things turned out more positive with your PCP. Communication (and misunderstanding) impact our lives so much.
