GRRRR!!! Insurance Companies and Doctors

Post by kitty16 »

Hi all,

I was away for a few days visiting my son in Florida. Ate all the things I should not have and am suffering for it.

Before I left I signed the paper work to start on Lotronex and had it sent to my prescription company. I called them first to make sure there were no restrictions they replied no.

Medicine should have been here when I got home NOT Called express scripts they said would put a rush on it. Next day I got a letter in the mail stating there is a hold on my prescription for Lotronex because it has to be mailed not faxed. I'm now in the process of dealing with Gastro office to get this done, with the holiday on Wed. this means I probably will not get this til mid July.

July is my 2 year anniversary of dealing with this disease and 1 year of seeing doctors for it.

Hope everyone else is surviving this heat wave.

Hugs,
K

Hi Kitty,

Well that's a bummer. Your doctor should have been aware of that requirement because they have to take special training before they are authorized to prescribe Lotronex. Apparently he or she may not prescribe it often enough to remember the rules.

Hugs,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
