Interesting research topic and outcome

Post by Gabes-Apg »

I am not good at translating what the results mean...

more so it is enthusing that there is credible (i hope it is credible) research
and my topic of interest is our immune system and why it seems to go haywire and struggle to return to normal..

http://medicalxpress.com/news/2012-09-i ... atory.html

In normal mice, immune cells such as CD4+ T cells and IgA-producing B cells do not play a big role in DSS-triggered colitis," Denning says. "But if the mice have a preexisting leak, the immune system plays an important role."
"There is a 'chicken or the egg' question with respect to whether inflammation or alterations in the intestinal barrier come first," Parkos says. "Many people with IBD report that their first severe episode was brought on by a stressful event or an intestinal illness, and it is possible that these events serve as a trigger that starts a vicious cycle of altered barrier and inflammation."

Gabes,

They're pretty much saying the same thing that I stated as my theory in chapter 16 of my book.

Tex
:cowboy:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Gabes,

Good to see you back here!

I read the research----personally they are not telling anything I don't know. My condition was brought on by both---an intestinal bacteria that nearly killed me (aeromonas or the flesh-eating bacteria as it is sometimes known) and a personal loss that shook me to my core and that I haven't recovered from yet.

Hope you're doing well, Gabes. I am still quite sick, can't seem to solve this issue, no matter what I do or don't.

Love,
Monique

Any research that backs up a Tex theory is definately credible research.....

if only the GI specialists will take note, :whip:

Tex, i wonder how many years it will be before there is multiple lots of credible research published, to substantiate what you already know?

monique, i am ok, few minor medical things happening (not MC related) and work is quite busy, dont get much leisure time on the computer.
sorry to hear that you are still poorly, hope things improve soon

Yup, and there were "authoritative experts" - like some (but not all) of today's fat cat "medical professors" - who in the days of yore ridiculed the "theory" that the earth was round, not flat.

Best, Ant
