I listened to this last night. I like Terry Wahl a lot, even bought her book a few months back. The seminar was pretty basic but what she had to say about Vitamin D levels was certainly in line with what people here say. She said that a "normal" vitamin d level was not the same as a "healthy" vitamin d level. Levels of Vitamin d necessary to prevent the development of a variety of diseases are between 50--100 according to Dr Wahl. She also highly recommends bone broths for their mineral content along with greens. Of course the amount of greens she recommends that people eat is much greater than most of us here could consume but given her story, her message is always pretty powerful. Her basic message is that nutrition is the backbone of health.

Wow, see this is the 2nd thread that I've read this morning that someone referred to bone broth. I'm going to be honest....I thought what the heck is that??? This is my lack of intelligence on healthy foods coming out!!! haha
I never had to worry about this before my MC(although I should have). I just read several things on the internet about it and I'm going to try this. This sounds extremely healthy for everyone. I cook with broth and I love a good chicken broth and egg noodles. I've ALWAYS bought broth. THanks for the mention of this.

Cathy - Bone broth is very easy to make. I always add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a big pot of broth because this is supposed to help leech the mineral out of the bones. Also I simmer it for about 24 hours because this also is supposed to increase the mineral content. I grew up eating chicken soup which is a staple in a Jewish diet so I have been eating it and then making it all my life. Now I cannot eat chicken but you can use any kind of bones. Lately I have been making pork broth from pork bones and also have some lamb bones in the freezer to make lamb broth. Bone broth is also supposed to be very high in glutamine, the amino acid that many people here take as a supplement because it is supposed to help heal the intestines. Good luck with your cooking.

Thanks Jean,
What else do you do with it??? I don't know if I could drink it by the glass and aside from chicken and noodles I'm not much of a soup person. I can add it in some things that I cook now where I cook with a bit of chicken broth now and then and I've heard before that you can use chicken broth for liquid for mashed potatoes as well. I've never tried it but I will now. Do you use the other kinds(pork or lamb) to cook recipes or just to drink??? Thanks for these healthy tips.
