I messed up!

Post by tigereye92 »

Kinda... I think. I have been gluten free on 9mg Entocort for about a month now and have settled into a pretty much one a day routine of not Norman... but not really D either. Certainly managable.

BUT... Of course i slipped some over the past few days- Not like huge amounts of things I shouldn't have but a few bites snuck in here and there over the holiday. BUT....I also missed my Ecort for 2 days straight. My stomach feels... slightly angry tonight.... like there is a good chance somethin' bad gonna happen soon :)

So.... Would that be more from the 5 or 6 bad bites or the 2 days of no meds? It's time for me to taper to 6mg a day as well.

AmyNicki

PS.... I Remembered something!! No... I mean I actually remembered something that someone else didn't.... The fog is lifting??? That would be HUGE for me.

Hi Amynicki,

It's difficult to predict how far the reaction (if it is a reaction) will go. If you slipped on your diet, that's probably the cause of your stomach distress, but of course missing the Entocort (especially while slipping up on the diet) could play a part, too. If you didn't overdo it on the food, though, the reaction may not be serious. You should know by tomorrow. If a reaction develops, how long it lasts will probably depend on how far your healing has progressed. More healing usually means a shorter reaction time.

If your brain fog is lifting, that's a good sign that you must be healing.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Oooh, I've done that with trying to taper off entocort. It's a very alarming feeling to hear gurgles and watery noises return. I hope it's just a minor ooops for you and there's not too much payback for a lapse in judgement. I know how you feel.

AmyNicki,

I sure hope it's short-lived!! You must be doing better if you are starting to lower your Entocort dosage....that's great! We all slip up a little. I overindulged in potato salad last night (those dang chopped onions and peppers) and I'm having persistent heartburn because of it. But it's always been that way for me. I ended up having to pop the Peptos again to get the heartburn under control. But no nausea, D or pain so that's a big plus.

So take your Entocort tonight! Glad to hear you brain fog is lifting!!

@DebE.....Oh those terrible watery noises. I don't miss that at all. Once I start hearing that again, I know I'm in trouble.....so far so good. It was like all I had to do was sit up in my bed in the morning and the noises began immediately and I could feel it moving fast from the top to the bottom. No cramping or pain, just noises and then a trip to the bathroom. It's been over 3 months since that has happened and I hope it doesn't again. No fun!

I've been having more of those noises lately and it always makes me raise an eyebrow. The D hasn't changed much but those are noises that bring back bad memories and make me nervous when I go to sleep.

DebE,

Very nerve wracking and that's the last thing I need is something to make me even more nervous.

Love your pic! Looks like we have about the same hair color. Mine is like a strawberry blonde before I get it highlighted. I need to get a picture up too!

I'm praying for a healthier, D-free and eye pain free New Year for you!

Thanks Terri, I've been meaning to switch to my picture for months but always had problems. Tex took care of it for me and is much appreciated. Seeing a face along with a post is always an added bonus to good advise, although it's a personal choice since the content is so personal.

AmyNicki, I hope your stomach is doing much better today.

AmyNicki, like Tex said, it's hard to tell, but I hope the reaction is short lived. I "slip" often with small amounts and I have to say that since the reaction is only in "consistency", I don't worry too much about it.

When it comes to weaning down on Entocort, make sure you do it slowly..... three pills one day, two the next, then back up to three...etc.

Good luck and keep us posted
