juicing and blending

Post by JenniferS »

My amazing and very loving husband returned from a business trip with a blender/juicer. (After having to finagle his way through airport security. Beware of the white haired man in bifocals bearing a blender! Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Anyway, either I am suffering from nutrient deprivation or exhibiting signs of another autoimmune disorder. I'm hoping it's the former, and wanted to know a safe way to juice. Do food intolerances still show up in juicing? What about when fruit is blended? Is that easier for the gut to take?

Hi Jennifer,
What a lovely hubby to buy you a juicer. My stand-by recipe is: 8 large, bulk carrots, 1-2" piece of ginger, 5 apples & 1 lemon. I drink a small, 6 ounce glassful most days and have no adverse effects. Note: I never drink this during a flare up.
I've been hearing green juices are good for you but have not figured out a "green" juice I like yet.

juicing and blending

Jennifer,

Cory's recipe works great. I add pears. Sometimes I transfer it to the blender and add a banana. Makes a great smoothie. I haven't found any green drink I like either...

Juicing restored my health when I was very ill and couldn't eat. I felt I was getting nutrients without the fiber that was damaging my colon. I continue to juice everyday.

Feel good.
