Is inulin fructose?

Post by JenniferS »

I'm sure many of you can relate, but I keep finding new pieces to my lc. Often unexpected ones. And yes, if I'd just stayed on the rice and pork diet. lol.

I am beginning to suspect I'm fructose intolerant as honey, as much as I love it, gives me great distress. Well, my husband (and food police) was out of town, and, in a moment of weakness and hunger, I had almond butter with honey. So yep, was pretty sick all day yesterday. Last night I took a pre and probiotic and went back to my rice and pork. Was even more sick today.

So, getting a bit paranoid (as I tend to do, as honestly, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I suddenly react to foods I've eaten all my sigh. *sigh* I did a search on the supplement I was taking, looking for product reviews, and one of the reviewers mentioned inulin and how it could be an IBS trigger. So anyway, I did another search and happened across an article that, in my ignorant mind, appeared to be saying inulin was based on fructose. Which, if true, would explain why I feel like death warmed over today.

And if not, well, then I guess my body just decided to be in a funk. It must know I have a great deal to accomplish. *eye roll*
