Itchy hands

Post by maestraz »

I've noticed the last few times I have exercise walked (maybe this is not new but I just never noticed? I've only recently started walking again after a LONG winter up here) that after the first half mile or so, my hands feel itchy and look red. This does not seem to happen during my core strength or yoga classes.

Anyone else? Do I recall Zizzle having exercise-related issues?

Ha! My skin hates exercise. I get a sweat-filled, prickly-heat rash on my belly/under my breasts, my face turns beet red and burns until I can wash the sweat off, and if its cool outside my thighs start to itch intensely.

I'm allergic to nickel and I recently learned that nickel is only excreted through sweat and stool. Makes me think its related...

Red, burning hands might be a sign of Raynauds phenomena, which affects circulation in the hands. Does cold weather make your fingers blue? Numb? Are you prone to frostbite?

Z,
I've never had a diagnosis of Raynaud's, but I start wearing gloves in about October and don't stop till into April (here in CT). My hands even get cold in the house. So I'm guessing it's likely. I am also sensitive to nickel, especially on ear lobes and fingers. And, I have had issues with itching under the bra line after workouts, and get very red too.

So I'm wondering whether I have mast cell issues that I never thought about?
