Need info on MRT testing
I just found the MRT testing website and downloaded an order form, but do I need to go through a doc? I will be seeing my G.I. doc on Monday. Thanks
Hi mcnomore,
If you plan on using insurance (some insurance companies cover the blood test) you will need to go through a local doctor. Generally speaking, there is often a price break for using a dietitian as the lab encourages this. You may also have insurance coverage to see a dietitian. I received your PM and will check with my colleagues on dietitians in your area.

Most people do Enterolab testing before they do MRT testing because the Enterolab testing is most reliable in picking up the major food sensitivities of gluten, dairy, soy and eggs. They then use MRT testing as an adjunct to the Enterolab results to fine tune their diet.
Is this the MRT site you found?
http://www.nowleap.com/
There is also something called MRT Labs which is not the same thing. What you are looking for is the Mediator Release Test but I would really recommend you do the Enterolab test first and then add the MRT if you find you want additional information.
