Are you suggesting that doctors should be familiar with the drugs that they prescribe.
Actually, generic budesonide is still mighty expensive, unless you order it from outside the borders of this country.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Some doctors have no business treating patients when they don't know what the Hell they are doing. You have to remember that in every graduating class of doctors, a portion finished at the bottom of their class.
I buy budesinide from a Canadian pharmacy in Vancouver. I've used this pharmacy for more than 10 years with no problems. Between lousy doctors and price gouging pharmas, patients are really screwed.

She did mention Uceris.
I think she is too darn busy doing the money making colonoscopies etc.
When someone from her office called today to answer a question from my visit, she was supposed to have a time and date for my next appointment in a month. When I asked about it, she said she was still working on it and would call me.
Her bio: Dr. spent her formative years in Jackson, Mississippi. She completed a double major in Molecular Biology and Classical Studies at Vanderbilt University. Dr. went to medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She then completed a Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Emory University in Atlanta in 1995.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Joan. Your doc is too busy doing colonoscopies to stay current on medical issues that aren't mainstream. Too bad. She has great credentials and is probably bright but where is her commitment to ALL her patients. If she isn't interested in dealing with a patient with MC, she should refer you to someone else.
