On July 26 I posted a reference to a site on GMO Genewashing. Since I had not posted for quite awhile, Gloria asked on that post how I was doing. I gave her a long summary on what has gone on with me since Easter when I was having problems. The last paragraph I am going to copy and post here because today I found and article on Histamine intolerance and it got me to thinking a little differently about my situation.

I take a generic Zertec every morning ever since Polly tried it back in August of last year and it helped even though I never had allergy symptoms. However, I find some days I have a sniffy nose, (Not stuffy, but sniffly) it doesn't run, nor do I ever have to blow it, but it's like I'm getting a cold but then it's gone again and it's not every day or all day but just for several hours. And sometimes so slight that I probably don't notice it right away. I can't figure out what is causing it. I am sure it has something to do with histamines. I gave up bananas and avocado for awhile and still had this feeling so I went back to eating a banana occasionally and 1/3 of an avocado a day.
This is the site I found today. On this site she printed a very long excerpt on "Histamine Intolerance" from a book she is writing entitled "The Paleo Approach" I found it very interesting. I wonder if it agrees with Tex's theory. Check it out.

I was avoiding the few foods that are high in histamine that I had been eating and saw no difference in my sniffly nose. However, after reading this article, I am going to pay closer attention to the "spoilage" of foods as they are in the refrigerator. I am very good at preparing foods and dividing into small quantities and freezing immediately. But maybe when I take them out to defrost in the refrigerator they are not eaten soon enough.
I have not eaten spinach in a long time because it is a high histamine food. My husband bought spinach and I made him a spinach salad this noon and while I had the spinach out I decided to saute a very large handful in coconut oil with a couple of very fresh mushrooms for myself. That was all I had this noon. That was 3 hours ago and no nasal reaction. That's why I think more along the line of slight food spoilage rather than high histamine food. Also I may have to look at going from freezer to microwave instead of into the refrigerator over night. And then sometimes it doesn't get all eaten that next day.
When I notice my nose being slightly runny I think what did I eat and maybe I have to ask myself how long was it out of the freezer or how fresh was what I had eaten.
I noticed pork was listed as high in histamines. Per Enterolab, I am only eating turkey, pork and fish.
This site also had a great article on Gluten Cross-Reactivity which I will put in a new post.
There are also a lot of paleo recipes on her site which interested me as I eat pretty much paleo with more exclusions.
