medical marijuana for IBD
Hi, I found the show on CNN about medical marijuana interesting. The show mentioned how it used for crohn's disease. The show had a story of Charlotte a 5yr old girl sufering from a rare form of epilepsy that causes her to have hundreds of seizures a day. After recieving liquid drops of marijuana, the child's seizures stopped. The strain of marijuana is called "Charlotte's Web". It cannot make you high. A company that grows the strain that is super low in THC but high in cannabidol. They makes the liquid drops with the cannabidol. This is designed to stop the child from the effects of the THC. To read about it type in " Medical marijuana stop seizure, brings hope to a little Black Forest girl". There are many articles about cannabidol and its use for gastrointestinal diseases. Just type in the title. Cannabinoids and the gut: new developments and emerging concepts. Cannabinoids for gastrointestinal disease: potential theraputic applications. Cannabinoids and the digestive tract. Endocannabinoids and the gastrointestinal tract. Jon
Jon,
I saw that same CNN/Dr. Gupta documentary. I have to say I was impressed with what they found and the research they covered. Separating THC from CBN (?) was something I was never heard of before. The effects on the little girls seizures was stunning. I thought it was well done, balanced reporting. I would recommend it if anyone is interested in the topic. Thanks for sharing it Jon.

Leslie,
I also saw the program about the little girl and medical marijuana. I guess Dr. Sanjay Gupta has changed his way of thinking about it after the help it has given this little girl. I was wondering if it would help with chronic D.
